Nivada Grenchen

Nivada Grenchen is a Swiss watch brand with roots in Grenchen dating to 1926. Its own history describes a US partnership with Croton, with names including Croton Nivada and Croton Nivada Grenchen. Multiple names on a dial therefore do not necessarily indicate incorrect branding.

Antarctic, Chronomaster and Depthmaster are important model names. The official history describes a 2018 relaunch by Guillaume Laidet and Rémi Chabrat, offering new versions inspired by earlier models. A historical model name consequently does not date an individual watch.

Establish whether a purchase is an older original or a modern reissue. Compare the reference, dimensions, movement and dial details with documentation for the correct period. An old advertisement may assist identification, but should not serve as the technical specification for a later version, or vice versa. Record replacement parts and any known service history.
