Obaku
Obaku is a watch brand combining minimalist Danish design with inspiration from Zen philosophy. Its first collection was introduced in 2007. The brand's own history names Johannes Arvin and Catherine Chan as founders, while Christian Mikkelsen and Lau Liengård Ruge designed the first watches.
Founder and designer are therefore distinct roles. The history attributes the V102 Lund model to Lau Liengård Ruge. Obaku's own guidance also distinguishes different crystals and collections. Specifications for a thin sapphire-crystal model cannot simply be transferred to an older watch from another series.
When cataloguing a used Obaku, photograph the case-back reference and match it to the correct model. Examine bracelet or strap, clasp, crystal and running condition. Describe observed features and state uncertainty about replaced components. A Danish design identity does not itself document manufacture in Denmark. Nor is a brand name or an average battery-life statement a condition report for an individual watch. Original instructions can help identify the functions actually fitted.
