Pål Roland Janssen

Pål Roland Janssen is a glass artist working in Norway specialising in hot sculpting and hot-blown glass. He is associated with Glasshytta på Frysja in Oslo, which he shares with glass artist Karen Klim. The workshop connection should be distinguished from the artist's identity.

In his presentation for Norske Kunsthåndverkere, Janssen describes sculptural elements as central to his practice. The page lists Pan under 2019 and Light // lett under 2018. He also undertakes collaborations and commissions, so other participants may be relevant in the documentation of a particular work.

What should accompany a work?

Retain its title, signature, dimensions, receipt and information about where it was purchased or exhibited. Separate documented artistic authorship from a statement that something was produced in a particular glass studio. A sculptural form or a Frysja connection alone does not establish attribution. For assembled objects, describe all components and known repairs.
