Patrícia Šichmanová
Patrícia Šichmanová is a Slovak glass artist based in Bergen, Norway. She completed an MFA at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava in 2017. S12 Gallery and Workshop documents her internship from 2016 and work there until 2020.
Her work includes combinations of glass and other materials. Norske Kunsthåndverkere's artist register records Lake from 2015 with cast and polished glass and a copper ring. Invisible from 2017 is recorded with optical glass, glass frit and pâte de verre. These material and technique details concern the individual works.
When assessing an example, record title, dimensions, materials and documented authorship together. Not every glass sculpture incorporating copper can be attributed to Šichmanová. Compare catalogued works and retain provenance. Examine attachments and material junctions, distinguishing documented construction from later repairs. A studio where an artist has worked is not automatically the producer of all her work.
