Perlkelchen (historic glass model)
Perlkelchen, also written Perl Kelchen, is a historical model name used for stemware in Norwegian glass history. Nøstetangen Norsk Glassmuseum places it among German-influenced models and shows several variants. It denotes a glass form rather than a material, glassworks or engraver.
The museum presents engraved examples and a Perl Kelchen Hertz Knopf variant connected with number 420 in Weyse's 1763 catalogue. Name and catalogue number must therefore be read together. The name alone does not fully specify shape, dimensions or decoration.
Norway's National Museum also records Perlkelchen OK-04929, dated 1743 and tentatively attributed to Nøstetangen. Preserve that qualification: an uncertain manufacturer attribution cannot establish the origin of every similar glass. Compare stem construction, foot, bowl and engraving with a documented example. Distinguish model tradition from secure workshop attribution.
