Shitika Agrawal (Shitika Studios)
Shitika Agrawal is the jewellery artist behind Shitika Studios in Oslo. Her own presentation explores jewellery as sculpture for the body. Shitika Studios identifies the studio and brand, whereas Shitika Agrawal is the individual who designs and makes the work.
Jewellery and body sculpture
Her practice includes wearable jewellery and larger experimental objects for the body. The Norwegian Association for Craft Artists documents In Other Worlds, a body sculpture from 2022 made with handcrafted brass and recycled plastic. One work cannot establish the materials of an entire practice, and a sculptural appearance alone does not support an attribution.
Identification in the pre-owned market
Compare an individual object with documented product photographs or artwork records. Keep receipts, packaging and correspondence that connect it to the studio. Record marks separately from material descriptions. Without a documented connection, an unidentified signature should not be presented as the artist’s maker’s mark.
