Silje Bergsvik (Morelle Design)
Silje Bergsvik is a goldsmith and jewellery artist associated with Bergen and the founder behind Morelle Design. The brand’s own presentation dates its small-scale production venture to 2011. The artist’s name and the jewellery brand should therefore be considered together when identifying an object.
Artist and brand
The Norwegian Association for Craft Artists lists her as Silje Iren Bergsvik and records studies at Alchimia in Florence and a master’s degree in metal and jewellery art from Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Its entry also presents Fargesprak from 2022, inspired partly by the 1950s. That inspiration does not mean that the jewellery was made in the 1950s.
Evidence for attribution
Compare form, colours, materials and construction with documented works. Receipts, original packaging and an identifiable model can strengthen a connection with Morelle Design. Record any signature exactly as found. An isolated letter mark is insufficient for attribution, and a shared brand name does not establish identical materials across all models.
