Skrufs Glasbruk
Skrufs Glasbruk is located in Skruv, Småland. Its own history records inauguration on 10 April 1897 following construction the previous year. Robert Celander founded the works. Tableware and later restaurant glass were important products before decorative glass gained greater importance.
The maker's designer presentation connects Carina Seth Andersson with Kolonn and describes the Skruf series as designed by glassblowers at the works. Skruf preserves an older spelling of the place name Skruv. Manufacturer and named designer are separate roles even when listed together.
When assessing older glass, compare form, dimensions, decoration and any signature with documented models. A factory label does not automatically identify the designer. Today's description of craftsmanship should not be treated as a complete technical account of every historical product. Record chips, ground edges and altered surfaces. Use specific model sources rather than attributing unsigned glass to Skruf from Swedish styling alone.
