Solvor Fermann-Khalifeh (Atelier Vor)

Solvor Fermann-Khalifeh is a craft artist working with jewellery, objects and installations. The Norwegian Association for Craft Artists describes a practice in which drawings are translated into materials including paper, textiles and metal. Organic lines and patterns from nature form part of this approach.

Artist, expression and sales name

The retailer Sugar Shop presents her as the founder of Atelier Vor. That name is therefore relevant when searching for evidence about a piece of jewellery, but should not be confused with the retailer’s identity. The artist register also presents Linjer i bevegelse from 2021. A linear appearance alone is not a distinctive identification mark for an unknown object.

Assessing an individual piece

Request model information or an earlier receipt, then compare outlines, construction and materials with documented photographs. Record any signature exactly without interpreting it as a maker’s mark. Working in metal does not mean that an unidentified piece is silver or gold. Its material needs evidence specific to that object.
