Stine Hoff
Stine Hoff is a glassblower and designer with a workshop on Hopsneset in Bergen. In her own presentation for Norske Glasskunstnere, she emphasises functional glass with a simple, modern expression that is comfortable to hold and use. Function and form are closely connected in this approach.
A workshop interview published in 2024 dates the opening of her first glassblowing workshop to 1992. It also documents apprenticeship work and production including drinking glasses, bowls, vases and dishes. This beginning should be distinguished from later relocations and any company registration.
To identify a possible Hoff piece, compare shape, colour, dimensions and surface with documented works. Record signatures and labels without assuming identical marking across every production period. Handmade glass may vary, but variation alone does not identify its maker. A receipt or information from the workshop provides useful support. Describe chips at the drinking rim and foot separately, distinguishing wear from features of the original design.
