TAG Heuer
TAG Heuer is a Swiss watch brand rooted in Edouard Heuer's workshop, opened in Saint Imier in 1860. Its official history distinguishes the earlier Heuer period from the era after Techniques d'Avant Garde became associated with the company in 1985.
Watches and timing
Heuer made pocket watches, stopwatches, instruments and wristwatches. Chronographs and motor racing became important parts of the brand history. Names, logos, calibres, references and cases vary greatly between periods.
Identification
An older watch may be signed Heuer without TAG, and this is not automatically an error. Examine dial, movement and inner case together, comparing reference, serial number and calibre with the correct period. A signed dial alone does not prove that all components originally belong together.
