Vacheron Constantin
Vacheron Constantin is a Swiss watch house rooted in Geneva. Its official timeline traces the beginning to 1755, when Jean Marc Vacheron signed an apprentice contract and made early signed pocket watches.
Watches across periods
The house has produced pocket watches and wristwatches with both simple and complicated mechanical movements. Names, signatures, logos, case numbers, references and calibres changed over time. Features of a modern model must not be applied to every older watch.
Identification
Examine dial, movement and inner case together. A signature on one part does not prove that all components originally belong together. Compare serial number, reference, calibre, material marks and documented service history with the brand archive or a qualified specialist.
