Yema
Yema is a French watch brand founded by Henry-Louis Belmont in 1948. The brand's own history connects the business with Morteau. Its historical model names include Superman and Yachtingraf.
Yachtingraf is described as a chronograph for regatta starts. For Superman, Yema records a bezel-lock mechanism with a patent application in 1967. These are model histories, not features that can be assigned to every watch bearing the Yema name.
When assessing an older example, check the reference, movement, dial and functions together. Distinguish an original model from a later reissue with similar styling. A bezel lock and a chronograph are different devices serving different purposes. Retain service records and investigate replacement crowns, hands, bezels or dials. Historical water-resistance specifications do not by themselves confirm present sealing performance or suitability for diving.
