Zenith
Zenith is a Swiss watch brand rooted in the business Georges Favre-Jacot established at Le Locle in 1865. He brought several watchmaking trades under one roof, an organisation that became central to the company's identity. The Zenith name was adopted later.
Historical context
Zenith has made pocket watches, wristwatches and movements across changing periods. Brand names, logos, case numbers and movement marks therefore vary. A specification from one modern model cannot identify every older Zenith watch.
Identification
Examine dial, movement and inner case together. Check that calibre, reference, material marks and construction agree. Refinished dials, replaced hands and movements fitted to later cases affect both historical integrity and value.
