Zeppelin

Zeppelin is a watch brand of the German manufacturer POINTtec, with designs inspired by historic airships. The manufacturer's timeline distinguishes POINTtec's start in 1987 from the Zeppelin brand's establishment in 2002. A licensing agreement with the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen made the brand possible.

Collection names such as LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin and LZ 129 Hindenburg express the aviation connection. They are not production dates for individual watches. POINTtec acquired its long-standing production partner in Ruhla in 2019. Ruhla's much older watchmaking industry must therefore not be used as Zeppelin's founding date.

For a used example, establish the model reference before describing its movement, materials and functions. Determine whether subsidiary dials display calendar information, a chronograph or other indications, using the appropriate instructions. Test operation and record wear to case, crystal and strap. Historic styling does not make a modern wristwatch an original object from the great airship era. Retain purchase and service documents that relate specifically to the example.
