Zodiac
Zodiac is a Swiss watch brand with roots in a watchmaking workshop established in 1882. Its own history distinguishes this from registration of the Zodiac name in 1908. The Sea Wolf was introduced in 1953 and is particularly associated with dive watches.
Several model families
Zodiac is more than the Sea Wolf. The Astrographic, introduced in 1969, is known for hands that appear to float above the dial. Model names and designs must still be connected to the individual watch; older originals and subsequent reinterpretations should be identified separately.
Collector's checks
Request clear photographs of the dial, caseback and movement, and record references and reported service history. Document dimensions, materials and functions instead of inferring them from the brand name. On a Sea Wolf, also describe the bezel and crown condition. A historical diving identity does not establish that an older example is water resistant today; that requires a separate examination.
