Bunad Knife – Tore Noddeland, circa 1980s

Traditional Norwegian bunad knife made by Tore Noddeland in the 1980s, a renowned knifemaker known for his high level of craftsmanship. The knife is executed as a classic costume knife (draktkniv) for use with the bunad (Norwegian national costume) on formal occasions.

The handle is carved from holly, a very dense and hard wood species with a characteristic pale, almost ivory-white tone. It is richly decorated with hand-carved, flowing scroll patterns typical of Noddeland's work. The fittings are in 830S silver, hallmarked TN, and hand-engraved with traditional decoration. The blade was forged by T. Rui and stamped accordingly, which is common practice for collaborations between knifemakers and bladesmiths. The sheath is made of black leather with a decorated surface and silver fittings that complement the whole.

A well-executed and authentic bunad knife with both practical and collector's value.
