AWAKE is an independent French watch brand founded in 2019 by Lilian Thibault. Industry organisation Francéclat documents the founder and establishment year.

Watches and artistic crafts

The brand develops designs inspired by nature and culture. Its Sơn Mài collection highlights Vietnamese lacquerwork and silver leaf on watch dials. AWAKE describes collaboration between the brand team and craftspeople in several countries. A French brand identity therefore does not mean every component is produced in France, and a technique used in one collection does not automatically apply to every AWAKE watch.

Examining an example

Identify the model, edition and any individual number before specifying the movement or technical characteristics. Photograph the dial surface in good light and distinguish intended craft variation from damage. Compare watch, box and papers, and check service records. Features of current Sơn Mài models cannot simply be applied to earlier releases.
