Beaucroft
Beaucroft is a British watch brand rooted in Cambridge. Its own history names founders Matt and Karim. A characteristic teardrop motif was inspired by the archway around the King's College clock. The watches are hand-assembled in Britain.
Design and assembly
The Cambridge connection concerns the brand's identity and design inspiration. British assembly does not by itself establish that every component was manufactured there. When describing a particular watch, distinguish design, assembly and movement manufacturer wherever documentation allows.
Pre-owned watches and model differences
Record the exact model, reference, dial colour and functions. Compare with a source for the same version. Do not apply today's claims about regulation, surface hardening or movements to all older Beaucroft watches. Examine the caseback and document any service history. A visible logo alone establishes neither production year nor the originality of the movement and strap.
