Houtman Watches

Houtman Watches is an Australian watch brand established in 2019 according to its own history. Jason Liddell is identified as its founder. The brand draws names and inspiration from Western Australia.

Names and model families

The Houtman name refers to the Houtman Abrolhos islands. Pilbara was its first watch series, while Murchison is another documented family. These geographical names identify models and the brand, not production years. Australian identity should not be treated as proof that every component was manufactured in Australia.

Assessing used watches

Identify model, generation and reference before specifying movement, dimensions or water resistance. Do not transfer Pilbara data to Murchison, or specifications from a newer generation to an older one. Compare dial, caseback, strap or bracelet and papers.
