Laine Watches (Torsti Laine)
Laine Watches is the brand of Finnish watchmaker Torsti Laine, who works in Switzerland. A graduate of the Finnish School of Watchmaking, he received the Lange Watchmaking Excellence Award in 2014. He should not be confused with Finnish jewellery designer Jorma Laine.
Models and features
The collection includes automatic and manually wound watches with hand-turned guilloché dials. V38 is presented with a micro-rotor, while GG3 and P37 use manual winding. These are model-specific descriptions rather than specifications shared by every Laine watch.
Assessing a pre-owned example
Match the reference, movement and dial execution to documentation for that particular watch. Record servicing and alterations. Hand finishing and decorated components do not by themselves establish that every movement component was manufactured in-house.
