Maud Angelica Behn (glass design)
Maud Angelica Behn is a Norwegian artist who collaborates with Magnor Glassverk on glass design. Documented ranges include the Til Deg glass hearts and Vi møtes vases. Distinguish the artist's design role from the glassworks' manufacturing role and a shop's role as retailer.
Documented ranges
Magnor describes Til Deg as mouth-blown, handmade glass hearts with different messages: blue for Trøst, meaning comfort; red for Kjærlighet, meaning love; and green for Takknemlighet, meaning gratitude. It also describes an accompanying art card with Behn's illustration and text. Signed text on a card should not be confused with a documented signature on the glass itself.
Vi møtes is a coloured art-glass vase range. Magnor's page for the green vase specifies mouth-blown, handmade glass. Retailer Gressvik Gullsmed describes black, pink and green vases with two faces meeting in the glass. These specific details provide a better comparison than the colour of an unidentified vase alone.
Identification and assessment
Record the range name, dimensions, colour and any label, card, box and receipt. Photograph the object and documentation separately, preserving their connection as part of its ownership history. Handmade glass can vary in detail; an associated loose box or card alone does not establish an individual object's origin.
