RESERVOIR watches

RESERVOIR is a watch brand founded by François Moreau, combining French design with Swiss watchmaking. It draws its visual language from automotive, aviation and marine measuring instruments. Dials and scales may therefore resemble instrument panels rather than a conventional three-hand watch.

The brand is particularly associated with retrograde minutes and jumping-hour displays. A minute hand travels along an arc and returns to its starting point at the end of the cycle, while the hour changes in a separate window. This differs from a chronograph's separate interval-timing function. Check the particular model and calibre before describing its exact operation.

Collections include GT Tour and Hydrosphere. When assessing a second-hand watch, record its precise reference, documentation and service history. Do not apply current power-reserve figures, dimensions or water-resistance ratings to older RESERVOIR watches as a group. An instrument-inspired appearance alone also does not establish authenticity.
