Sofia Karyofilis
Sofia Karyofilis is a Norwegian metal artist trained in metalwork and jewellery at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. Norske Kunsthåndverkere records her BA in 2012 and MA in 2014. Her work belongs to contemporary craft and metal art rather than automatically to serial jewellery production.
Hollow forms and metalworking
Her practice includes shaping sheet metal by hammering. In a 2025 interview she discusses cold forging, rolling and surface treatment. Her work Etter tørke, made in 2019, received the Finn Erik Alsos memorial prize in 2020. The work's date and award year are distinct.
