Typsim (Matthew Zinski)

Typsim is an American watch brand established as a watch business by Matthew Zinski in 2019. Zinski is an architect and describes himself as a self-taught watchmaker. The name derives from the architectural abbreviations for typical and similar.

Background and models

An earlier design collective using the name began in Buffalo in 2005. That history should be distinguished from the watch business established in 2019. Its documented model list includes the 200M, Guide, Architect and TimeTraveler. These are different models, not a common set of technical specifications.

Assessing used watches

Identify the model and edition before stating materials, movement or water resistance. Vintage-inspired styling does not prove age. Compare dial, caseback and papers, noting replacement components or polishing. An offer of chronometer certification does not itself establish that a particular watch is certified. Request the relevant documentation whenever such a claim is made.
